I weighed a number of whole unroasted cashew nuts and found the following:

The average weight of one cashew nut is around 1.5g (0.053oz).

Smaller cashews weigh around 1g, and a large cashew nut can weigh up to 3g.

Half a US cup of cashews weighs around 75g (2.6oz) and contains around 100 individual nuts in total.

How Many Cashew Nuts are in a Portion?

Although cashew nuts are a good source of protein, they’re also high in fat and calories so if you’re counting yours, it’s a good idea to know how many are in a portion.

The recommended portion/serving size per portion of cashew nuts is around 18 nuts. Based on the average nut weighing 1.5g, 18 nuts are equal to around 27g (0.95oz) and 216 calories (kcal).
