Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

When you complete a contact form we may use this information for marketing purposes.  We only retain relevant contact information such as name and email address for our own marketing purposes and will not pass these details to any other party unless required for business reasons.

Your details may be extracted into Mailchimp for storage over an unlimited amount of time and email marketing purposes.  Once this is information is no longer required it will be permanently deleted.

Cookies

Visitors to the site will be subject to cookies which are used for analytical purposes to check website performance.

We may also use cookies within our site for purposes such as affiliate marketing, anti-spam etc.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Where a login page is applicable – If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

We are subscribed to the Amazon Associates program and cookies are used to track purchases through affiliate links.

Who we share your data with

With the exception of data sharing through cookies and analytics (as outlined in this policy), we will not share or sell your data to any company for marketing purposes. 

Any data collected for marketing purposes will only be used for promotional material associated with simplyfoodtips.com and only if you have signed up to our email list.

You can opt-out or unsubscribe from email marketing at any time. 

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Where we provide an ongoing subscription we will need to retain your data for administration purposes.  Once you terminate your agreement we will permanently delete your files within one year of termination.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data

Personally Identifiable Information collected by Weigh School is securely stored and is not accessible to third parties or employees of Weigh School, except for use as indicated above.

All of our employees are familiar with our security policy and practices.

The Personally Identifiable Information of our Visitors and Authorized Customers is only accessible to a limited number of qualified employees who are given a password in order to gain access to the information.

We audit our security systems and processes on a regular basis. Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, is protected by encryption protocols, in place to protect information sent over the Internet.

While we take commercially reasonable measures to maintain a secure site, electronic communications and databases are subject to errors, tampering, and break-ins, and we cannot guarantee or warrant that such events will not take place.  We will not be liable to Visitors or Authorised Customers.

We will take steps to ensure information is held securely. In the event of an attack or breach, we will inform you if any of you data has been compromised and which data could be at risk. 

What third parties we receive data from

We may use high-level information available via advertising platforms including Google Ads and Facebook to target relevant customers in our advertising.  This data is held by the company and covered by their privacy rules.
